Sanctuary Recertification a Tremendous Success!

On Monday, December 15, The Crossnore School received the School’s Sanctuary Recertification Report. The Report follows a two-day evaluation process that was held in October. Maxine Reddy, of the ANDRUS Sanctuary Institute, and Michael Selep, peer evaluator from Holy Family Institute evaluated The Crossnore School for successful implementation of the Sanctuary Model.

Certification standards are organized along four pillars: Trauma Theory, the SELF-model, the Seven Commitments and the Sanctuary Tools. Certification is contingent upon the ability of the organization to adhere to the Standards described in the Sanctuary Implementation Standards Manual. Scoring ranges from 1 (Not Implemented) to 5 (Exceptionally Implemented). The Crossnore School is thrilled to report that the School did not score below a 4 (Successfully Implemented) on any one of the four pillars. In fact, the School’s overall score was a 4.5!

The Sanctuary Model is a treatment and organizational framework for creating trauma-informed communities.
