In its second century, The Crossnore School, is a residential foster care group home for severely neglected, maltreated and abused children in North Carolina. We accept children ages 1-21.  The school is nestled on 83 acres in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains where we provide a Sanctuary of hope and healing for our children. The children live in homelike cottages with our cottage parents--dedicated professionals who help the children 24 hours a day. We are the only residential foster care group home in North Carolina that has a public K-12 charter school where all of our children attend. We offer 19 forms of therapy ranging from family and play therapy to substance abuse and EGALA therapy. The Crossnore School offers a holistic approach to treating the whole child emotionally, physically, mentally and spiritually. Our theory of change model is unique to our organization.
